George Mallory was a famous English mountaineer and is considered one of the pioneers of the attempt to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He organized two British expeditions in 1921 and 1922 to attempt to climb the world's highest mountain. However, his last mountaineering attempt took place in 1924.

In 1924, George Mallory and his climbing partner Andrew Irvine attempted to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Although George Mallory and Owens kept going despite extreme difficulties, they eventually lost contact. George Mallory's contribution to mountaineering and his pursuit of Everest made him an important figure in British mountaineering history.

Although he was ultimately unable to confirm whether he made it to the summit, his spirit and courage are still an inspiration to many mountaineers. His famous motto, "Because it's there," became a classic slogan in the mountaineering world, expressing a desire for the unknown and challenge.
